EU Elections tomorrow

I read the newspapers daily, I'm politically aware. I have a voting slip. What I have no idea of  is who I might vote for.

Where are the election candidates?

They treat us like lemmings. The EU is a total control state affair. There is no democracy, no accountability.

So I'm not voting.

---------------------------------------------------------------

It took me a while to find this.

It looks like the following are up for the soft jobs with loads of money.

http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/2015guide/wales-european-candidates-2014/

I've written to MEP's the return rate poor.

To Aberdaron

Not much happening on the Penyffordd front.

I'm 60 today. Should be feeling ok but I am not. Might have age related asthma or something worse..... Used to do a marathon in 3hrs 25. Now can't run 30 yds.
Anyway its to the doctors.
Not the one in Penyffordd. ( councillor joke)

Lifestyle changes have been made. Diuretics have been cut down.
That's alcohol, coffee, tea, caffeine drinks to you.
Earl Grey remains on board.

Water consumption has been increased. Filtered water that does not taste of chlorine such as that out of the tap.

Sugar is kept an eye on, dont usually touch confectionery.

Done the internet bit. Asthma, bronchitis, COPD, the big c, or perhaps an allergy to the dog, take your pick ! I see the Lung Foundation doesn't do "alternative therapy". They do however offer new lungs as one of the solutions when available.

I've had TB and Pleurisy. Pleurisy is bad.

Do milk growth hormones cause cancer? Just a  thought.

Milk has been cut down.

( Apparently the EU have banned the growth hormone.)

Today we have been to Aberdaron on an impulse. Good weather, few holidaymakers, early in the season, no school children around, not the weekend.

Lisa informs me we have been to Bardsey Island (around the corner) on three one week yoga retreats. http://www.bardsey.org/

Bardsey was once a place of pilgrimage. Not sure now they managed, its far enough along the A55.
Went 1000hrs back 1600hrs in time for tea.

Aberdaron village a sunny paradise, friendly people.
Talked to a pleasant couple from Solihull.

Here's where Lisa's mobile has been, us too

Lots of infrastructure investment happening in Gwynedd. New walls, cycle paths like billiard tables, roads a pleasure to drive on.

As compared to The Nant at Pontblyddyn that looks decidedly third world. I'm sure CT constantly badgers the council. Perhaps the Flintshire Head of Traffic and councillors (inc Big Bernie) should take a drive between Caernarvon and Nefyn.
Quite an eye opener.

Congratulation to Cllr Edwina Davies on becoming the new Penyffordd Council Chair.

Edwina informs me that the blog is getting boring. Yes Edwina I agree.

Lets hope Edwina can kick the Penyffordd Council web team up the bum.
Edwina used to play football for the village team.

Agenda and Minutes in a prominent place please Edwina. (and all together)

Lets hope the new clerk will not want to be scribe to the worst council website in UK.

Penyffordd Community Council changes

In the Chronicle today I read Penyffordd is to have an increase of county councillors from two to three. This is because of the increase of residents with the new estates. To those who know they might exclaim "Well what has that to do with the community council?"

Well little I have to put something down.

There will also be boundary changes.

Other Flintshire wards have lost one or two county cllrs.

Is Tommy going for the Big 90 as a cllr !

Will he have enough groupies left alive to vote him as political leader of the village?

Let's hope not Tom, time to go !

World War 1 - Local People

Last Wine Circle, Dave Healey came along and gave an illuminating talk on the experiences of local people who signed up for World War 1. Not that there was much choice in the matter.

Dave brought along visual aids to help understanding of this tragic event.

Situated on the Penyffordd War Memorial Institute wall

On the tablet above top right is the name C Vincent Davies.

Dave explained how soldiers were trained for war in this country. This of course gave no inkling of the horrors our men were to face. Letters written at the front were all read by an officer to make sure those at home had no idea of the carnage, nightmare and the despair experienced by those in battle.

C Vincent Davies who has relatives locally arrived at Gallipoli in Turkey
and was killed the first day.

Penyffordd lad's debut for Manchester United

Last night Manchester United played Hull City. Tom Lawrence of Penyffordd played his debut game for the first team. Tom has come up through the Manchester United football academy system.

It was a tradition under Sir Alex Ferguson that if there was little to play for in the final home game of the season he would blood some kids.

Manager Giggs followed the example, handing 20-year-old Welshman Tom Lawrence a chance in addition to Wilson, the Biddulph-born forward who has earned rave reviews for the reserve team this season.

A55 Car Park at Dobshill this evening

Best to have a heads up when you get to Dobshill to join the A55. To see what's happening overhead. This was this evening.
