Saturday Bonfire Night Road Closure

Penymynydd Rd at the Chester Rd end will be closed between 4 pm and 9 pm.

Footpaths Flintshire

Whilst we're still called Flintshire perhaps I should bring up the following article.
http://www.newsnorthwales.co.uk/news/127735/calls-to-help-ensure-route-in-higher-kinnerton-is-recognised.aspx

Klaus and his mate Elwyn on the case.
Some good information on footpaths and bridle ways.
On what to do if you use a footpath that gets blocked.

Where I walk there are a few paths that appear on Ordinance Survey but not on the FCC Definitive Footpath Map. What do you do if you are the only one who walks them? If you are the only one who knows about them. Some farmers just block them off.

Flash Flood

Just had a gigantic shower. Never seen anything like it ever.
Lots of water coming down Penymynydd Rd. Roof systems couldn't deal with levels of downpour.

Of course it comes straight down the hill and straight across the road into gardens and houses that are below the level of the road.

In my opinion no provision can be made to prevent this happening here.
The amount of water was astounding.
Lots of people out with cameras.....

Also hit Llangollen, A5, Brymbo, Caergwrle.
Delays are being experienced on roads.
NWP are on the case.

Bonfire Night - Penymynydd Rd Closure

I've been approached by someone who believes the above may be happening.

If it is going to happen Penymynydd Rd residents who will be affected should be given good notice.

Police Honesty

Time for change.

Torches and candles to the ready

Electric has gone off about three times tonight over a period of a minute or two. Not sure how many houses involved. As the Prime Minister says " Just put your jumper on !"
Hanson Cement red chimney light didn't go out.
Mind you I suppose they have stand by generators.

Weather outlook for Nigel Jones' funeral 11.00am Penyffordd Church

Cloud in the morning. Rain appearing after midday for the afternoon.

Local Pub Wars ?

Going past the Millstone the last week or so I have seen the board outside advertising Greek nights, Italian nights and Spanish nights.

50 yds away on council land now sits a board from The Red Lion advertising a charity night.
The Red Lion is quarter a mile away.
I think cheeky monkeys.

Does this now mean that the post where the road splits between Hawarden Rd and Chester Rd can be used by The Millstone and Penyffordd British Legion to advertise events?

Privacy matters - The EU steps up to the plate

Privacy should be a natural state for individuals, organisations and companies. Having the spooks wade through your laundry when and if they want needs to be stopped.

The EU are taking positive steps against GCHQ and the NSA.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/17/eu-rules-data-us-edward-snowden

Lets hope their actions have teeth.

The argument that if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear is for the naive.

Edward Snowden should get the Nobel Prize.

Our MP's including our Prime Minister who thought he was wrong should hang their heads in shame.

I've signed up to Blogger, I have a Gmail account my stuff is scanned to aim adverts at me. This is different however to the spooks looking for dirt to hold over you.

Harrassing Community Councils

Thanks to Ann for the "heads up" on this.
There is of course making valid points but this looks allegedly a bit much

Will have to read it through later on.

How's the Penyffordd Council website doing. - Minutes and Agendas?
My wife Lisa can knock a website up and have the minutes on without any training inside an hour.

Tally ho !

until the spammers go away.

Farmworkers being antisocial

At the moment ( 21.26hrs) tractors with trailers are going through Chester Rd and other Penyffordd roads. Some of them are taking off at the traffic bumps creating large bangs.

I wonder if you can have a word with the farmer Tom?

It's not on and they should not be doing it.

Noisy Environments

As Penyfford Airport ( or Hawarden or Chester choose your name) traffic starts to pick up the link below is something to bear in mind for your children. You can also put living next to the A55 or right next to a trunk road ( Penyffordd Bypass) into the same category.

Parking News and Quiz

Flintshire County Council have now taken over responsibility for proper parking. So if you park on yellows and paths you had better watch out. Someone in Hawarden has been sorted. FCC have the usual system where you pay a reduced fine if you pay quickly.

The "someone" in Hawarden however is not happy. His defence of " I've always parked there!" will not stand as a good defence when he contests it at the magistrates court.

Quiz

The above yellow line sequence is in Llangollen. Do you know what it means?
