Decline

Yesterday we returned to R*ncorn town centre after about 4 years. It was supposed to be a  treat for Lisa. A vegan lunch. The Vegan /vegetarian cafe has gone. Most of the charity shops have closed down.
We buy out of print books from charity shops hence the interest.
Many shops are boarded up. The soul of the town has gone.

This is what Buckley and Mold need to guard against.

It was a depressing sight.

Mervyn King the Governor of the Bank of England expects zero growth in 2012.
What planet does Mervyn live on!

Of course it can't all be blamed on Mervyn and the Bankers.
Supermarkets and the Internet are big players in the race to destroy community centres.

  1. Morning Colin,
This scenario is sadly becoming all too familiar. Town centres are losing their small shops and the money is going to out of town business parks.
Listened to Mervyn King on the news last night, he was floundering, did not inspire confidence at all. Banks have a great part to play in all this, just wonder where its going to end.
    Thanks for the thoughtful post.
    Ann.

  2. I think it will continue Ann.
The EU will drag us down further.
Spain is in a dreadful state.

I'm all for casino banking if they pay for their own mistakes.
Not us the tax payer as has happened.
When you see them talking about quantitative easing think us paying for the bankers and politicians mistakes.

We and our children and grandchildren will pay the price over the next 30 years. Less pension money, investment, etc.
