Penyffordd Community Council met last night

The new Penyffordd allotment was on the menu. Some one has put a spanner in the works last minute. Perhaps this has now been sorted.

  1. Allotments schemes are very important. I hope nobody has put the boot in. This is becoming a regular event on the Community Council. Can't people simply put their own agenda's to one side and act with the Community they represent in mind, or is that just too much to ask?

  2. I think everyone is pulling in the same direction even Tom ! by his comments in committee. I am under the impression that a plot of land that was sublet by the Gladstone estate was to be used. Then I heard the sublet user was having a change of mind. Then I heard yesterday Les Hewitt was in the plot.(lol) Cllr David Williams has gathered a lot of interest in the allotments. I'm sure there will be a successful conclusion.

  3. What appears to happen in Penyffordd is that Labour backed schemes get attacked by our Independent councillors. That's Independent with a small "c" as in Conservative. The multi games area recently constructed is an example. The Independents who have done "not too much for Penyffordd" were phoning up our Labour councillor saying what a mess the contractors were making of the sports field. Cindy will not thank me for saying this but things need to be said. Any dirty tricks should be brought out in the open to make certain councillors think twice before engaging in negative activity.

  4. Well there is an election coming up, and a lot has happened this year on the Councils and very little of it has been good.
It is dire when they concentrate their efforts on point scoring instead of what is best for the community.

  5. It would appear the person I was conferring with the other day has been taking too much medication. Near the water tower at Penymynydd is the site for the allotment that has been planned. A nice spot but a bit too near the trunk roads for me.
