Penyffordd and Hope - Sport

Although separate have various commonalities. We use their health clinic we haven't got one. Our children go to Castell Alun for secondary education. I presume we use their sports facilities as we have none. Our Penyffordd Cllr Tom Jones is a school governor.

Hope County Councillor Tim Newhouse is trying to improve certain Hope sporting facilities which are described in the Flintshire Chronicle as a slum in "School Slum Row" on the back page of the Flintshire Chronicle ( article not currently online)

Tim wants improvements to the sports pavillion. Castell Alun management are being bloody minded refusing parking for cricket, rugby and football. Also they are against the scale of his sporting ambitions for the community.

Tim knocked Cllr Sam Shone off his perch at the last local elections. As a result the old establishment of Hope are not happy bunnies. So it seems they are quite happy to punish Hope sporting enthusiasts to get at Tim.

Lets hope Tim stands again and buries the old fogies further. Would I take a bet that our Cllr Tom Jones is backing Tim in his noble efforts to direct youth energies in a positive direction at Castell Alun?

I think not.

It took our local CBM Ian Millington to remind Tom that you need to make investment on youth facilities.

And Penyffordd football sporting facilities?  The locals might say dire. And who is this down to?
